HONG KONG MOU?

Since I was really young and have started to watch TVB dramas, I have been wanting to visit to Hong Kong so much but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to do so all these while. I have been to several main Asia countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, China and Singapore but my favourite of all have always been Hong Kong. Not knowing how to describe why do I like this country so much, maybe it's the culture, the food, or the feeling it gave me.

I have expected and imagined so much about this country before visiting it, and my first ever visit to Hong Kong was totally amazing and has definitely lived beyond my expectations in everything wise! What made this visit more exciting was that I was going with my two best friends Sofea and Jeanne. Since we have our own Hong Kong friends who brought us around, we've got to experience a lot of things not only tourists do, but the locals as well!

So here's my list of the must-do things in Hong Kong:

1. Go for their Hong Kong style tea restaurants

The one I went for breakfast was Australia Diary Company (澳洲牛奶公司) and I have tried out their traditional spaghetti in soup (汤意粉), toast with scrambled eggs (炒蛋多士) and their steamed egg (炖奶) is a MUST MUST MUST TRY! My personal favoruite has got to be their iced milk tea (冻奶茶) and anyway everything there is really really delicious so do not hesitate to try them out!

The another tea restaurant that we went for tea time was Capital Cafe (华星冰室), and I really loved their pork bun (猪扒包)!

2. Take a walk at Mong Kok (旺角)

This place is full of Hong Kong's famous street food such as the egg waffle (鸡蛋仔), curry fish balls, fried intestines, fried stinky tofu and so on. It's my first time having egg waffle in my life and it's crispy from the outside but fluffy inside. SO YUMMY! I loved their curry fish balls too but it's much spicier than what we usually have back in Malaysia. Basically this is a place more for eating, so keep your tummies empty before visiting and you will never get disappointed with any of the stalls here!

3. Go on a boat trip at Sai Kung during the Summer!

The main reason why we were up for this Hong Kong trip was because of this BOAT TRIP! I have always wanted to go for one after constantly seeing Hong Kong Instagrammers posting pictures of them going on a boat trip during their summer holidays, getting some tan, taking some sexy bikini pictures, playing banana boat and so on..... And I have finally gotten the chance to experience it! My Hong Kong friends have booked for it a month earlier, so try to make an appointment with the boat companies earlier to avoid disappointment as it gets really busy during the season. It's totally how a perfect summer holiday should be like!

After returning from the boat trip, there's a whole range of seafood restaurants by the harbour for you to dine in. It tasted so amazing as it's all fresh off the sea!

4. DIM SUM!

What? Visiting HK without trying out their dimsum?? You don't know what you're missing out man. Their dim sum is the bomb! Although we have so many kind of Hong Kong dimsum everywhere, but the authentic ones in HK is really different and unbeatable! We went for this small dimsum shop called Dim Dim Sum (点点心) which is near Causeway Bay and it's pretty good. Another restaurant which we went for dimsum was called The Dining Room (南小馆) which is inside a mall called Hysan Place near to Times Square.

5. Enjoy the entire night view at Victoria Peak

Hong Kong is widely known for its hustle bustle city life and the night view from Victoria Peak is totally fascinating and you should never miss out! This is the place where Running Man's Hong Kong special episode was shoot! You can either take a bus or a cable car up to the peak and it's often crowded with tourists.

6. Experience LAN KWAI FONG

*SMIRKSSSSSS* Erhem. Okay, I guess a lot of people have watched the movie Lan Kwai Fong (喜爱夜蒲) right? It's actually very similar to how it's like in reality, just that the movie was slightly exaggerated. On weekdays, this place is more like a chilling bar drinking place full with foreigners; whereas on weekends it's like a legit hardcore party place where you will not regret experiencing!
On a side note, girls should be very careful and do not take any drinks from any strangers and I really mean it! Do not be like: oh okay that only happens in dramas and not in real life so I can don't give a shit about it, trust me, do not take any drinks from random strangers unless it's from the bouncer or fresh from the bar-tender itself.

7. Visit fancy cafes

This idea is pretty mainstream but I guess it's one of the must-do-thing for most of the girls! What's better than having a good tea time at a pretty cafe after a whole tiring day walking around? There are so many special cafes around HK and we went for this cafe operated by my goddess Angelababy! The food was mediocre but the mango toast was really yummyyyyy. Places like Dazzling Cafe and the Hello Kitty cafe were quite attractive too but I didn't get to go so maybe next time!

8. Visit Macau

Why not visit to Macau when you're already in HK? It only takes an hour by ferry from HK's terminal to this city which has the name of "Asia's Las Vegas". The main attractions here are the casinos, and the colourful night view which really resembles Las Vegas, also not forgetting their famous Portugese tart, pork bun and the Ruins of St. Pauls (大三巴)! The Venetian Casino is so pretty and I was in love with this place ever since I've watched the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers. Finally gotten the chance to visit this place and hence one of my must-go-places was checked.

There's actually still a lot more must-do-things in HK that I didn't get to do such as going to the Ocean Park, trying out more delicious food and cafes and so on, so I have tones of reasons to come back again in the future! Anyhow, I will definitely come back to this place again as it's now like my number one favourite country! Missing HK so much now it hurts. :(

  3. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I had written and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I'd certainly appreciate it.
